Welcome to the website of the Netherlands Representative Office (NRO) to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah. The NRO was first opened in Jericho, soon after conclusion of the Oslo Agreements in 1994, after which it moved to Ramallah in 1996, where the institutions of the Palestinian Authority are located. The NRO is located in Al Bireh, Ramallah and comprises eight Dutch expatriate staff and six Palestinian staff.

The core activities of the NRO are centered around its development program as well as political and socio-economic analysis and reporting to facilitate Dutch foreign policy. The NRO also promotes private sector development (PSD), notably through a set of instruments, which are implemented by the Dutch Agency for International Business and Cooperation (www.evd.nl/business).

For travelers to the Netherlands we provide practical information on The Netherlands as well as visa & consular information. Travelers to the Palestinian Territories (Gaza and West Bank) are welcome to consult our travel advice (in Dutch), which is regularly updated to reflect the current security situation. Palestinians wishing to study in The Netherlands are encouraged to inquire about our possibilities for fellowships.
